Carbohydrates are used by the body for energy, brain function and metabolic processes that take place every day. Chicken
There are various ways to cook chicken so that it is free of carbs. You can bake, broil and steam the breasts, legs and wings so that they are carb-free.
Supplements
There are some nutritional bars, drinks and protein powders that have no carbs. An example of a protein powder is Isopure.
Fish
Fish has protein, and cold water fish like salmon has omega-3 fatty acids. One thing fish does not have is carbohydrates.
Beef
Beef also has zero carbs. If it is processed, it might have a marginal amount of carbs in it.
Oils
Oils such as olive oil, flaxseed oil and sunflower oil are high in monounsaturated fat and free of carbs.
Butter
Butter is used as a spread on bread products and also to add flavor when cooking. It is high in fat and free of carbs.
